Hull York Medical School building project wins Industry Award

SLCE were appointed by the University of York as the MEP consulting engineer to carry out, complete design and technical advisory services for the complete refurbishment of the Hull York Medical School Research Facility at York.  We worked closely with the University and their principal stakeholders to clearly establish the academic & research brief and worked as part of an integrated team  with  seamless collaboration with the contractor to achieve zero defects.

As a trusted member of the UoY technical advisory supply chain and with extensive experience of healthcare and research projects, SLCE were able to lead the technical discussions regarding interpretation of the project brief and adopt a pragmatic approach to the design solutions. As is our usual approach, we were open, integrated and collaborative in our sharing of information.

Wentworth Castle Shortlisted in the National Lottery Awards

Wentworth Castle and Stainborough Park has been short-listed in the semi-finals of The National Lottery Awards in the Best Heritage Project category.

The awards, which are voted for by the public, have been set up to recognise various projects across the country.

There are seven categories in the awards, each reflecting the main areas of lottery funding: Arts, Sport, Heritage, Health, Environment, Education and Voluntary/Charity.

The winning project from each of the categories will receive national recognition at an event later this year, broadcast on BBC One, as well as £2,000 to spend on their project.

Silcock Leedham has worked alongside the team at Wentworth Castle on the recently completed lottery funded renovation works to convert the grade II listed conservatory into a visitor gateway for the castle and gardens.
