Silcock Leedham where recently part of the team that delivered Hull Universities New National Business School. The project involved linking three separate existing grade II listed buildings to form an autonomous school and high quality learning centre. Some challenges of the development included, the formation of a 500 seat auditoria / lecture theatre with full AV and public broadcast facilities, whilst maintaining existing ornate internal features. Also to minimise the requirement for cooling, particularly in the high density IT research rooms, Silcock Leedham developed a detailed thermal model and solar track analysis to optimise system design and reduce the need for mechanical cooling.
