Energy Performance Certificates
The Housing Act 2004 contained a requirement that all homes put up for sale (with some limited exceptions) must have a Home Information Pack (formerly known as the Seller’s Pack) before marketing of the home starts. This pack will include an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC). The EPC must be prepared by a Domestic Energy Assessor (DEA) or Home Inspector (HI) who is a member of an approved certification or accreditation scheme.
Silcock Leedham directly employ a registered EPC.
Part L2A Compliance
In order to comply with Criterion 1 of Approved Document L2A a proposed new building must achieve an Actual Building CO² Emission Rate (BER) no greater than a Target Building CO² Emission Rate (TER) calculated using approved calculation software.
Silcock Leedham has Competent Person Status under BRE for building CO² emissions rate calculations using the user interface for the Simplified Building Energy Model (iSBEM). BRE Certificate Number ERC3053
Silcock Leedham are well versed in the requirements of Building Control Officers and the information they require to provide Part L certification. We produce 'As Designed' Part L reports for submission to BC during the design process and then' As Constructed' reports for final sign off by BC.
CIBSE Low Carbon Consultants Register
The Register of Low Carbon Consultants has been developed by CIBSE certification to provide the market with a supply of professionals whose competence in low carbon design, building operation or simulation (carbon emissions calculations) has been tested and registered.
