The project was a new highly rated boutique hotel and consisted of 45 bedrooms and a health and beauty spa with leisure facilities. The hotel was also to include high quality conference and business suites.
The project also had to meet the stringent planning restrictions imposed by North Yorkshire planning, which included a renewable obligation for Bio Mass generation in-keeping with its’ woodland location.
Silcock Leedham was appointed by Skelwith Group to provide design consultancy services for the new hotel complex. The hotel was to be located within existing woodland and provided challenges with reference to incoming statutory services. Due to its’ remote location and being 1 mile from the main road alternative servicing strategies were key to the success of the design.
With Silcock Leedham’s extensive experience within the hotel construction sector it allowed for early identification of the most effective design solutions and we also provided early input into the building’s space planning to ensure plant rooms were located within the correct areas to avoid acoustic and coordination issues with the building structure and building occupants
