Client’s Requirements

This large family home resembles a traditional farm. Within the cluster of buildings is a garage, a pool house and the main family home, which is itself subdivided by a glazed link that illuminates the internal circulation. The separate buildings are connected at basement level to provide a single dwelling.

The quality of the detailing and the juxtaposition of the buildings of different scale and footprint, succeed in making a large-scale family home into an intriguing cluster of smaller buildings and resulted in this commission winning a RIBA NW Seven Cities Awards
