Client’s Requirements

The bonding warehouse is a grade II listed building on the banks of the River Ouse in York. Extensively damaged by flooding in November 2000, it remained empty and derelict until Grantside took it on and completed restoration and conservation works.

The building consists of 6 office suites offering flexible office accommodation and four luxury apartments.

Silcock Leedham’s Contribution

Silcock Leedham was appointed by Grantside Development to provide full M&E design and specifications for mixed use residential and commercial office accommodation. We also provided on-site support to the client during the redevelopment works to ensure the installations were installed in accordance with the strict requirements of the conservation officer.

Added Value / Unique Selling Points

We used our extensive experience and knowledge of working on historic buildings to deliver a project that met both the client’s requirements for modern “state of the art” living and office accommodation and the conservation officer’s requirement for building and fabric conservation.
